The Best Stroller Wagons of 2024
The traditional stroller is a must-have item of baby gear for new and veteran parents alike—no baby registry is complete without one. But once your kids get a little older, negotiating stroller time gets tougher. Enter the stroller wagon, a stroller/wagon hybrid and totally new type of baby gear.
Stroller wagons give families a convenient option for both everyday and landmark adventures out of the house. As their popularity has increased, brands you know and love have expanded their stroller wagon options, and now there are tons of wagons to choose from that vary in type, price, and off-road readiness.
Stroller wagons can be a major investment, so before buying an expensive piece of baby gear, it helps to do a little research. That’s why we’ve put together our list for stroller wagons of 2024: to help you find the perfect fit for your family without overwhelming you with info (because no parent’s got time for that).
What Are the Best Stroller Wagons?
Before investing in a stroller wagon, we recommend taking a few things into consideration before you start shopping, like the size of your family, age(s) of your children, where you live (especially if you’re coastal or get a lot of snow), and how you think you’ll use it (mostly errand running or outdoors on rough terrain, for example).
Some stroller wagon shopping considerations to keep in mind while you browse:
- Wheels and suspension. Most stroller wagons have oversized wheels and suspension systems that make managing rough terrain easier, but some perform better off-road than others. Think about what activities you’ll use your wagon for and where you’ll be doing them (especially true if you want one for trips to the beach).
- Weight limits. Depending on the age and size of your children, weight limits can be a deal breaker. Make sure a stroller wagon’s maximum weight limits can accommodate your needs—doing so ensures you’ll get plenty of use before your kiddos outgrow it (especially since most families use stroller wagons for multiple children).
- Size and portability. Most stroller wagons are big and relatively bulky, and can take up a lot of space in your trunk (or home!). Pay attention to folded dimensions—and whether or not you’ll need to remove accessories before you can fold your wagon—as well as the weight (some stroller wagons top out at only sixty pounds and take some extra muscle to wrangle in and out of a trunk).
- Ease of use—for you. Of course you want a comfy ride for your kiddos, but if a stroller wagon is tough or uncomfortable to push (just one reason to love an adjustable handlebar), it’s an expensive piece of gear for which you’ll never reach. Make sure the stroller wagon pushes and maneuvers like you’ll need it to before you purchase.
- Infant options. If you need to transport an infant and a toddler, you’ll need a stroller wagon with an adapter accessory that’s compatible with your infant car seat.
- Cost. Stroller wagons aren’t inexpensive, so if you think your family will only use it occasionally, consider a more wallet-friendly option.
- Durability. Will your stroller wagon be used for outdoor adventures, or for corralling kids at the grocery store? Do you have older kids who will outgrow it sooner, or younger kids who will use it for years? Consider how you’ll use your stroller wagon and its intended lifespan when deciding if a wagon’s durability is an important priority.
- Storage. All stroller wagons have storage pockets and options, but they’ll vary from model to model. Some wagons have larger baskets and bins (even coolers) that are ideal for longer trips out and about. Pro tip: Balance your storage contents evenly on each side for easier maneuvering and less chance of tipping.
Best Stroller Wagon for 4
Wonderfold W4 Luxe (W4S 2.0) Multifunctional Quad (4-Seater) Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- Ideal for big families
- High-end features
- Bulky and heavy
If you’re a family with three younger kids (or more), getting out of the house can feel like a monumental challenge, especially if you’re doing it solo. While some double strollers have ride-on accessories for a third kiddo, they aren’t exactly quick or convenient, and don’t offer tons of storage space. Frazzled parent, meet the double stroller wagon.
There’s a lot to love about the Wonderfold (literally—this wagon is big). The Wonderfold W4 Luxe is a quad stroller on the mega-lux level and packed with thoughtfully-designed features that make everyday adventures with your family less stressful. The adjustable vegan leather handlebar means comfortable and ergonomic strolling for caregivers of different heights. Four removable seats recline and have convenient magnetic harnesses, and there’s a zippered door that makes it easy for kids to get in and out (which can be challenging with wagon walls this high). The W4 has plenty of storage options for parents and kids, and the canopy covers the entire wagon body, ensuring serious sun protection for little riders.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
As we mentioned, this stroller is big: It’s wide, long, and heavy (not exactly surprising, as it’s built to haul four kids and all their stuff). Practically speaking, the W4’s bulk and size mean it’s a push-only stroller wagon. A pull strap is included, but it’s unwieldy and awkward, especially if you’re on bumpy or uneven terrain.
If you’re still in the young baby stage, the W4 isn’t compatible with infant car seats, so it can’t be used with any little ones under 6 months.
Noteworthy specs:
- 6 months – 99 lbs. per bench (total weight capacity 300 lbs.)
- Folded dimensions 44.5″ H × 29″ W × 20” L
- Stroller weight 63 lbs.
What’s in the box:
- Wagon frame with wheels and mesh footwell
- UPF 50+ canopy
- Storage basket and key slot
- Child’s tray
- Big cup holder
- Adjustable handlebar
Best All-Terrain Stroller Wagon
Veer Cruiser (2 Seater) Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- Takes on any terrain, including snow-covered
- Most adaptable to your family
- Customizable accessories
The Veer Cruiser is an insanely well-built all-terrain stroller wagon that pairs adaptability and functionality in one sleek (and sweet) ride. The durability of the Cruiser is unmatched and it’s incredibly maneuverable, particularly for a stroller wagon.
The Cruiser’s oversized wheels and suspension system can truly tackle any terrain (and any weather for that matter—this stroller wagon is tough). Hills, gravel, sand, mud, snow… Veer can handle these off-road challenges with ease. It’s also a pretty compact stroller wagon, and when folded, is easy to get in the trunk of any size car (even subcompact models).
This stroller also offers a lot of options that make adapting to your specific family makeup easy: it’s infant car seat compatible with the purchase of an adapter set (available for most brands); the toddler comfort seat provides cushioned comfort and support for babies 6 months and up (the Cruiser can accommodate the usage of two toddler seats at once); and the new Switchback modular seat (can be used with Thule wagons and stroller frames, as a bike seat, a standalone camp seat, and as a booster seat at mealtime) attaches to the Cruiser frame, allowing babies as young as three months to ride without needing an infant car seat.
There are also tons of available add-on accessories to make cruising even more convenient, and Veer recently launched the Cruiser XL, their 4 seater stroller wagon if you need more space for little riders.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
There’s no getting around it: The Veer is expensive, especially if you start upgrading your ride with accessories. Unlike a lot of stroller wagons on our list, the Cruiser doesn’t come with many accessories (just cup holders and a snack tray with the most basic model).
Noteworthy specs:
- Birth – 55 lbs. (per seat)
- Folded dimensions 37″ H × 20″ W × 14” D
- Stroller weight 32.5 lbs.
What’s in the box:
- Wagon frame with wheels and mesh footwell
- Two cup holders
- Snack tray
Easiest to Clean Stroller Wagon
Larktale Caravan Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- Easy to clean
- Extra comfy for little riders
- Tons of included accessories
Like the Keenz and Wonderfold, the Larktale Caravan is shaped like a traditional wagon (and operates more like a wagon, as well). It has a spacious interior with seating for 2, and is long enough that older kids won’t be fighting for legroom. This stroller wagon scores high on the kiddo comfort scale, overall: The nap-friendly padded seats recline individually and the double UPF50+ canopies provide great sun protection.
The Caravan is easy to clean, too. The interior body of the wagon is easily accessible, and the drop-down footwell can be unzipped to quickly release dirt and debris. The seat fabric wipes down nicely with just water (no need for detergents or cleansers).
This stroller wagon comes with some super convenient and unexpected accessories we love, including a parent organizer, storage bin, rain cover, and mosquito net.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
While the Caravan has treaded puncture-proof tires that handle well on pavement and grass, it’s more difficult to push on gravel and sand, and is hard to get over bumps and curbs (and the pull strap can be awkward). If you plan to use your stroller wagon most frequently for outdoor adventures at the beach or on unpaved trails, it’s worth keeping in mind. It’s also tall when folded with the canopies on, which could obstruct your view out the rear windshield while driving.
Noteworthy specs:
- 6 months – 50 lbs. (per seat)
- Folded dimensions 25.2″ H × 13.6″ W × 33.2” H
- Stroller weight 33 lbs.
What’s in the box:
- Wagon frame with wheels and mesh footwell
- Two canopies
- Rain cover
- Mosquito net
- Cup holder
Best Affordable Stroller Wagon
Evenflo Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- All-terrain wheels
- Compact fold
- Fully-loaded with accessories
If you’re budget conscious (and who isn’t?), you may have assumed the hefty price tag of most stroller wagons meant they were out of your price range. But the Pivot Xplore won’t break the bank compared to some other popular options, and performs just as well as other stroller wagons (if not better).
This 2-person ride has rugged all-terrain wheels that go from sidewalks to the beach and beyond, and its telescoping handlebar can be flipped to either side, allowing you to push or pull your kiddos (whichever is most comfortable). The Pivot Xplore folds as compactly as a full-size stroller, so if you’re short on storage space, this stroller wagon is a great option.
The Pivot Xplore comes with a lot of convenient accessories, including double UPF 50+ canopies, snack tray, and a storage basket. And it’s compatible with Evenflo infant car seats if you’d like to use it as a travel system, too.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
The Pivot Xplore is only compatible with Evenflo car seats if you’re thinking of using it with an infant, and it doesn’t have tons of available add-on accessories (though it comes with the essentials). Because it is so budget-friendly, the stroller materials won’t feel as high-end as what you’d expect to find with pricier models.
Noteworthy specs:
- 6 months – 55 lbs (per seat)
- Folded dimensions 37.5″ H × 27.5″ W × 23” D
- Stroller weight 34.7 lbs
What’s in the box:
- Wagon frame with wheels and mesh footwell
- Two canopies
- Double snack tray and cup holders
- Storage basket
Best Stroller Wagon for Infant and Toddler
Gladly Family Anthem2 All-Terrain (2-Seater) Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- Great option for a baby and toddler
- Fully-loaded with accessories
- Double canopies provide 100% sun coverage
The Gladly Family Anthem2 is the ideal stroller wagon option if you need to get on the move with both an infant and an older child. Not only does it come with a stowaway mattress that turns the wagon bed into a cozy spot for naps on-the-go, a “universal” car seat adapter is available to purchase that’s compatible with a wide variety of car seat brands including Nuna, Graco, Clek, UPPAbaby, Chicco, and Britax.
This two-seater wagon can be pushed or pulled, and folds down into a pretty compact self-standing package. The Anthem2 is fully-loaded with parent-friendly accessories including two extra large canopies that provide full sun coverage, a parent cup holder and storage container, a double snack tray, and tons of storage options for all your kiddo-related knick-knacks.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
When pushing in stroller mode, the Anthem2 has fixed front wheels and back wheels that swivel, so maneuvering tight turns can take some getting used to. And the handlebar is a fixed height, which may be uncomfortable for taller caretakers.
If you need space for more little riders, the Gladly Family Anthem4 ICS All-Terrain (4-Seater) Stroller Wagon seats 4.
Noteworthy specs:
- 6 months – 50 lbs. (per seat)
- Folded dimensions 41″ H × 25″ W × 16” H
- Stroller weight 34 lbs.
What’s in the box:
- Stroller wagon with mesh footwell
- Two seats with three-point harness
- Two XL folding canopies
- Parent cup holder and detachable storage
- Child cup holder and double snack tray
- Stowaway mattress
Best Stroller Wagon for the Beach
Keenz 7S 2.0 (2-Seater) Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- Maneuvers well on sand
- Lightweight
- Tons of storage
Because most stroller wagons have large all-terrain wheels, they perform better on sand than a typical stroller. Even still, pulling on sand requires some effort: Enter the Keenz 7S 2.0. Its lightweight aluminum frame and rugged all-terrain wheels combine in a stroller wagon that handles especially well on sand.
Beach bums will also appreciate all the extra storage. In addition to a built-in cooler, dual zippered pockets and organizational “caddy” provide plenty of space for toting towels, sunscreen, tents, toys, and more. If you live at the beach or visit frequently, consider upgrading to the Keenz All-Terrain Wheel Set (the wider wheel and tread pattern make any Keenz wagon even more maneuverable on sand).
Other features we love include ten-position adjustable handlebars (on each end of the wagon, so you can push or pull), four-wheel suspension, and a canopy that has blackout panels for when your kiddos are overstimulated and need a chill out spot. The Keenz also comes with cup holders and a travel cover. If the Keenz 7S 2.0 (2-Seater) isn’t big enough for your family (or stuff), you can upgrade to the Keenz 7S+ 4-Seater.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
Keep in mind the Keenz 7S 2.0 is not compatible with infant car seats and doesn’t have reclining seats, so it’s not recommended for babies under twelve months. It also has tall sides, which can make retrieving kid stuff from the wagon bed or hoisting an older child into the wagon tough if you’re petite.
Noteworthy specs:
- 12 months – 45 lbs. (per seat)
- Folded dimensions 37.5″ H × 27.5″ W × 23” D
- Stroller weight 33 lbs.
What’s in the box:
- 2-seater wagon
- Canopy with blackout panels
- Travel bag
- Phone/cup holder
- Cooler
Best Stroller Wagon that Feels Like a Stroller
Pronto Squared (2-Seater) Stroller Wagon
The Albee’s rundown:
- Super maneuverable
- Folds like a stroller
- Push only (but it’s a great push)
Of all the stroller wagons on our list, the Pronto Squared feels most like a stroller. It pushes like a dream, folds into a compact package, is crazy easy to maneuver, and has a tight turning radius (a real standout feature when navigating crowded spaces). It’s also small enough to fit in the trunk of most compact cars when folded.
The Pronto Squared has a roomy storage basket for all your on-the-go essentials, and the telescoping handlebar means comfortable strolling for every caretaker. Don’t stress the mess, because the Pronto fabrics are removable and machine washable. If you’re considering an infant car seat in the Nuna family, the Pronto has an adapter that converts your wagon into a travel system.
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
This stroller wagon is push only, which also means that it performs better on pavement and smooth surfaces—ideal for errand running, but less so for a day at the beach. And while the canopy is large, the position doesn’t always offer great sun protection for riders.
Noteworthy specs:
- 12 months – 130 lbs
- Folded dimensions 38″ H × 26″ W × 15” H
- Stroller weight 35 lbs
What’s in the box:
- Stroller with deep footwell
- Canopy
- Leather handle
- Two seat backs
- Cup holder
- Fabric tray
Best Stroller Wagon for Travel
The Albee’s rundown:
- Smaller footprint
- Compact fold
- Infant car seat compatible
“Best stroller wagon for travel” is not an oxymoron—the Joey has a compact design and folds flat, so it’s our go-to stroller wagon option for out-of-town adventures (stroller wagons are rad, but not exactly known for being petite).
Folding is quick and easy—just press a button on each handle bar and push them towards the wagon floor. Pop the wheels off for impressively compact storage (folded, Joey will fit in the trunk of small cars, even Mini Coopers). While the wagon bed is on the smaller side, it has a mesh footwell that gives little riders some extra legroom, and the canopy affords ample headspace for older kiddos.
This two-seater stroller wagon can be pushed or pulled, and the oversized wheels mirror the smooth ride of inflated tires (minus the potential of popping or going flat). The sandal-friendly footbrake and front-locking wheels mean you’ll roll effortlessly over any terrain, sand included. A handy snack tray and roomy cup holder are included, and it’s compatible with our most popular infant car seats (with purchase of separate adapters).
Is It a Match? Some Good-To-Knows
The Joey has a built-in storage basket, but its narrow opening makes it less accessible and unable to accommodate bulkier items, like diaper bags. The adjustable handlebar is short, so taller caretakers may kick the wheels while walking in stroller/push mode.
Noteworthy specs:
- 6 months – 55 lbs (per seat)
- Folded dimensions 38.2″ H × 25″ W × 18.1” D
- Stroller weight 37 lbs
What’s in the box:
- Wagon frame with wheels and mesh footwell
- UPF 50+ canopy
- Storage basket and key slot
- Child’s tray
- Big cup holder
- Adjustable handlebar
